Hi my name is Akeila and I am 11 years old and I go to Parklands school.  I live with my mum & dad and my baby sister.  I'm interested in riding my motor-bike and having lots of fun.  My favourite thing to do out  of school is just relax and hang out with my friends and family.  I have 8 pets and just love animals.  My favourite things to do at school are writing,maths and reading.  My hopes for the future are to write a song book/story book and to be a hair dresser.   Thank you.

Hi my name is Aurora, I have one brother, a mum and a dad.  My interests are netball, soccer and playing tackle bullrush.   My favourite things to do out of school are eating chocolate and staying with my friends. My pets:   I have a cat called HENRY!!!! I have a kitten called Ziggy, a goldfish called Nemo,and a guinea pig called Macintosh.my favourite things to do at school is to play with my friends Milly a.k.a Amelia,  Sammie, Teigan and Hayhay a.k.a Hayley.

Last week we had a fly off which consisted of making our own planes.  My plane went so far it landed right at the end of my toe.   It was so fun!!   This girl had an air compressed plane and that won the most distance.
On the 3rd of November we had Kapahaka fun day but we couldn't see our own Parklands team cause the hall was choca-blocked .

2. What weapons did cavalry use? Spear, sword and the lance
3. What did cavalry do? They tried to spear people off their horses. When their lance or sword broke they used their sword.

My topic is castles. I'd like to do it because we have been learning about castles and people who lived in them. This is the ruins of an old- medieval castle in Wales.

THE TOWER OF LONDON
This is the white tower of London. William the Conqueror, the person who built this castle made it to take captive prisoners and to torture all sorts of people.It is now a famous tourist attraction in London to show the history of the castle and it's use.


DANGER OF THE CASTLES

There were all sorts of dangers that could destroy a castle. One was a catapult which could destroy a castle easily. Another thing was the battle rams which would be pushed against the draw bridge to smash open the drawbridge.

Some people that lived in the Middle Ages were: peasants, lords, ladies, princes and princesses, kings, queens and many others.

This is a battle ready sword. Some medieval swords were five feet or more. A 2 handed sword could cut though mail and bone.

This is soldier is on the back of a horse holding a spear and with armour on so he doesn't get killed or wounded by the other people who are attacking him.

THE LONG BOW.

The English longbow, also called the Welsh longbow, was a powerful type of medieval longbow (a tall bow for archery) about 6 ft (1.83 m) long used by the English and Welsh, both for hunting and as a weapon in medieval warfare. English use of longbows was effective against the French during the Hundred Years' War, particularly at the start of the war in the battles of Crecy (1346) and Poitiers (1356), and most famously at the Battle of Agincourt. A longbow must be long enough to allow its user to draw the string to a point on the face or body, and the length therefore varies with the user.
